The receptionist would not allow my 99 year old mother in law to go to her scheduled appointment for an infected wound dressing change with a nurse when she arrived 5 minutes late for it. I am appalled by the disgraceful disregard this practice showed for a person, with mobility issues, who was on a course of treatment for an infection, and needed her regular treatment to try to heal her. I believe this to be a severe breach of patient care. Her son, who is not medically trained, had to soak the saturated dressing off himself to put on a new one, in unhygienic conditions, before her next appointment which was 3 days away.
